In Jefferson Texas there are at least 7 things to do on the fourth of July, at least but that is not all.
– Start the day at the White Oak Manor bed and breakfast. Grab a cup of your favorite morning brew and sit on the porch and relax listening to the birds before breakfast is served in the dining room.
– You might want to go downtown to check out the shopping options. There are so many options to choose from. Whatever your taste, you are sure to find something that you just have to take home with you.
– There is the Artisan and Makers Market July 4th Independence Day Celebration. Stop by to browse and/or shop for unique one-of-a kind treasures! Artisan makers will be set up in the gallery with their hand crafted items for sale. Specialty artisan and food items welcome!

– Make a pit stop for a cool refreshment and a bit of lunch to fuel up and power on. Jefferson has multiple options to to wet your whistle.
– Maybe you just want to chill out and really unwind for the afternoon before the festivities begin. Come back to the bed and breakfast and rest in the air conditioning or maybe take a nap.
– Jefferson Texas Salutes America festivities
Monday 4th of July at Otstott Park on the corner of Layfette St. and Vale St.
This event is FREE to the public.
The “Big Show” begins at 6pm downtown, where you will hear a Welcoming Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to start the festival. The Children’s Parade lineup starts at 5:45pm & the parade in the park gets underway. After that Ice Cream Championship Judging and Cake & Pie Auction by Friends of Jefferson Carnegie Library gets underway.
At 7:30pm the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band entertains the crowd with great music.
In the park there are multiple booths with soda and hotdog sales, face painting and snow cones.
– About 9:30pm the Fireworks FANTAZMAGORIA begins over the Big Cypress Bayou by the bridge downtown!! Make sure you get there early.

If you are coming to Jefferson for just the Fireworks show, that is great. Please arrive at least 1 hour before the show starts and bring your lawn chairs and get comfortable. Drive carefully and enjoy our quaint little town.
