If you love music and especially Blues music this is the festival you should be attending. The dates are set for June 22nd and 23rd 2012. The tickets are already selling fast for the 7th Annual T-Bone Walker Blues Fest just a short drive from Jefferson in the town of Linden.
Visit the Music City Texas Theater website for more information and to purchase your tickets before they are gone.
The 2 day festival has 2 stages with a fantastic line up on both stages. First and foremost the festival is a living memorial to the music icon that was a primary influence to most postwar blues guitarists and early rock and roll greats. T-Bone Walker’s most enduring legacy was taking the guitar from a rhythm instrument to a lead instrument in a band. Honored by his peers with membership into the Blues Heritage Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The festival this year is headlined by Keb’ Mo and Bill Lynch and the Western Icons. The Fourteen performing artists and bands will present a variety of blues styles, and include a number of IBC performers and Guitar Center King of the Blues winners, The festival will also showcase some of the rising stars in blues and standouts from the 2011 IBC Youth Showcase- The Peterson Brothers Band of Austin, Texas and Matthew Davidson Band of Shreveport, Louisiana.
The outside stage is free on Friday June 22, 2012 so bring your lawn chair and blanket and get comfortable for the most enjoyable time listening to the bands playing. Just don’t bring your coolers they’re not allowed.
