A Jefferson Texas Bed and Breakfast gets updated décor!

As the new owners of this bed and breakfast in Jefferson Texas we felt a bit of refreshing was in order so follow along with us as we take this beautiful old house into the 21st century.
This past month we have been busily cleaning, spackling, painting and generally updating the house. Oh not to worry though we love the charm of the house so there won’t be any major overhauling of this bed and breakfast.
Our first order of work is to give the rooms a fresh coat of paint and some new bedding. We also decided to add some new features to the place. That will be our little secret until another day.
Today I’ll be showcasing our progress on one of the rooms; our “Southern Charm” formerly known as Miss Ellie’s room. This guest bedroom has a private bathroom with a claw foot tub and a separate shower. It also is the only room with a petite balcony which is a really cute place to sit and enjoy your wine in the evening or coffee in the morning all the while feeling like you might be in the treetops with the Pecan tree so close in the back yard.
When we first walked into the room it was pretty but in need of a facelift as it were. The light aqua was a bit overwhelming so we chose a nice calming green which really accents the two stained glass windows that flank the bed. The fireplace in the room is highlighted by the crisp white mantle showcasing just the right amount of accent pieces.
Now on to the bathroom; the brass fixtures were in much need of polishing so off we went to taking them apart and piece by piece polishing and cleaning even the inside of the pieces. Even I was shocked at what a difference a bit of Braso and a cloth can do. They are sparkling and bright now.
Our mission is to give our guests a taste of the past with some modern comforts that we have all become accustomed to today.
