Kathy of Beauty and the Book has the magical power to bring together wonderful authors, both famous and up and coming to Jefferson. On this weekend everyone comes to town to become friends while learning about the newest books. There are author panels where the authors speak a bit about their new book and maybe you’ll learn about what they may be working on for the future. This year John Berendt shared with us his new adventure in New Orleans and he spoke of his progress on a book he is working on. It sounds fantastic!
The Magnitude of authors this year was phenomenal. Everything from Westerns to Humorous books, Love stories to dealing with Alzheimer’s. I’d bet there was something for every taste in that room. And getting a chance to talk to that beloved author and getting a personalized autograph is one of the biggest thrills of a lifetime.
This year the book “Love on the big screen” written by William J. Torgerson was the theme for our 80’s night where everything and anything pink or 80’s rocked the house.
On Saturday night The Greatest Book Show on Earth was the theme so we partied with the circus in mind. There were pink lions with a lion tamer, a bearded lady, performers from the Night Circus, a trapeze artist, ringmasters, clowns of all kinds and even some refreshment vendors! The costumes were incredibly creative and fun.
