1 – Art on the Bayou presents Artisan/Makers Market.
July 1-4, 10am -4pm
July 4th/Independence Day Weekend Celebration. Stop by to browse and/or shop for unique one-of-a kind treasures! Artisan makers will be set up in our gallery with their hand crafted items for sale. Specialty artisan and food items welcome!
2 – 4th of July Express Train (Update, the train is no longer in town)
Saturday, Sunday and Monday

Trains depart at 12:30 & 2:30
3 – “Jefferson Salutes America”
Monday 4th of July at Otstott Park on the corner of Layfette St. and Vale St.
This event is FREE to the public.
The “Big Show” begins at 6pm downtown, where you will hear a Welcoming Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to start the festival. The Children’s Parade lineup starts at 5:45pm & the parade in the park gets underway. After that Ice Cream Championship Judging and Cake & Pie Auction by Friends of Jefferson Carnegie Library gets underway.
At 7:30pm the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band entertains the crowd with great music.
In the park there are multiple booths with soda and hotdog sales, face painting and snow cones.
4 – About 9:30pm the Fireworks FANTAZMAGORIA begins over the Big Cypress Bayou by the bridge downtown!! Make sure you get there early.
